Created for Suppliers, by People who Know Retail Best.

HRG started in 2010 in Bentonville with a clear goal: suppliers should not have to accept unsupported retail deductions as just part of the job. This belief still guides everything we do.

From our beginning, HRG has helped suppliers find, investigate, and recover more than $1 billion in retail deductions and claims.

Our work also explains why claims happen, fixes process issues, and gives suppliers a clear view of their retail accounts.

Protecting the Revenue You Earn.

Retail deductions impact finance, sales, operations, and logistics. The documents needed to support or challenge a claim are often scattered across different systems and teams. HRG gathers these records, reviews the evidence, and works to recover money when the facts support it.

Our team understands both the supplier and retailer sides. Many of our auditors have worked with the outside firms retailers hire, as well as with retailers' own post-audit programs. Based in Bentonville, our team averages 25 years of experience. This perspective helps us see not just what was deducted, but also what happened, why it happened, and what should come next.

Retail Deduction Recovery + Retail Intelligence

Recover Retail Deductions. Protect the Revenue You Earn.

How We Work with Suppliers

HRG tailors solutions to each issue and the level of support a supplier needs, so our approach fits your work and your situation.

Contingency Support: A focused assignment designed to quickly and efficiently handle a specific short-term deduction issue.

Audit 360 is an ongoing partnership that combines recovery support with reporting, root-cause advice, and process improvement. We start by reviewing claims that need investigation, checking them against agreements and orders, working to recover funds, analyzing new issues, and suggesting ways to improve.

Intelligence - Coming Nov. 1, HRG’s retail revenue intelligence platform will connect deduction, inventory, pricing, and transaction data. This helps teams spot patterns, make decisions, and cut ongoing losses.

We review the most common types of claims suppliers face, such as shortages, pricing and allowances, defectives and returns, freight and compliance charges, and post-audit claims. To address older claims, we rebuild the original transaction, the agreement, and the supporting documents. Our experience with retailers' post-audit programs shapes how we investigate and respond to claims.

A Different Model

Many firms work on a contingency fee and focus only on cash recovery. Through HRG's Audit 360 solution, we work with clients as a full-service partner. This difference shapes how we work and the support we offer from beginning to end.

Dimension
HRG — full-service partnership
Percentage-based recovery firms
Commercial model
Monthly fee, scoped to the supplier — not a cut of recovered dollars
Contingency fee: a percentage of whatever is recovered
How the fee is set
Category mix, SKU count, points of distribution, and number of retailers
Dollars recovered. A bigger deduction pile produces a bigger bill
Scope
Full-service: recovery, documentation, dispute management, and the operating work around deductions
Recovery only. Not a full-service deduction function
Relationship
Partner. Embedded to improve the process, not a project that ends when a check clears
Transactional. Engage to collect, then disengage
What success looks like
Invalid deductions recovered and future deductions minimized
Cash recovered on claims already taken. Prevention sits outside the engagement
Who does the work
Bentonville-based team, average 25 years of retail and supplier-side experience
Third-party teams outside the United States
Retail fluency
On the ground in Bentonville, inside the Walmart and Sam’s ecosystem suppliers sell into
Remote processing, removed from the desks and portals that approve claims
Incentive alignment
Paid to run the function well. No upside in letting invalid deductions pile up
Paid more when more is recovered. The model profits from the problem continuing
Cost predictability
Known monthly cost tied to complexity
Variable. A strong recovery month produces a larger fee
What the supplier keeps
100% of recovered dollars. The fee is for the partnership
Recovered dollars minus the percentage
